Seipasa recebe registro da EPA para o biodefensivo Seican

Seipasa, a company specialized in the formulation, development and marketing of botanical and microbiological-based solutions (biopesticides, biostimulants and fertilizers) for agriculture, has received registration approval from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the biopesticide Seican.

Seican is a new fungicide, insecticide and acaricide for pest and disease control. Developed from a unique formulation based on substances of botanical origin, Seican provides a powerful knock-down effect against diseases such as powdery mildew and botrytis. It also acts against a wide range of mites and insects.

Pedro Peleato, CEO of Seipasa, said that obtaining the EPA registration is a pivotal step within the international expansion of the company. “Our strategy is to grow globally with solutions adapted to the needs of each country and market. The plant protection registration is a guarantee to present us to the market with a solid proposal. This is the reason why working to attain plant protection certificates results in a key element for Seipasa”, said Peleato.

“Seican’s is the most recent certificate we have obtained, but Seipasa has 15 years of experience in the process of registering phytosanitary solutions. We have certificates in countries such as the United States, Mexico, Peru, Morocco, Spain, Italy and the UK. We are going to continue to grow in the international market based on the registration applications that we have underway in countries such as Turkey, Israel, Chile and Ecuador, and which will soon arrive”, said Seipasa’s CEO.

Seican provides a curative action that prevents the spread of fungi. As fungicide, Seican breaks the sporulation and causes the fungus dehydration, so visible symptoms quickly disappear from the leaves.

Within its insecticide and acaricide mode of action, Seican acts by contact thanks to its ability to penetrate the soft susceptible body parts of mites and insects causing a dehydration and consequently its death. Seican does not generate resistances and is suitable for inclusion in integrated pest management strategies. In addition, it is certified in OMRI for use in organic production systems.
